Tap 1

An introductory level focusing on basic tap terminology, rhythm, and coordination. Dancers learn foundational steps such as toe taps, heel digs, shuffles, and simple combinations while developing musicality and timing.

Tap 2

Builds on the basics with increased complexity in footwork, coordination, and speed. Dancers refine their clarity of sounds and begin learning more intricate rhythms, across-the-floor progressions, and basic time steps.

Tap 3

A more advanced level emphasizing intricate footwork, syncopation, and musical dynamics. Dancers work on complex rhythms, faster combinations, and increased control to improve their articulation and style.  

Tap 4 (Highest Level)

The most advanced tap level, focusing on precision, speed, and musical interpretation. Dancers execute intricate rhythms, complex footwork, and dynamic phrasing while mastering control, articulation, and performance quality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Tap Dance Classes

Beginners do not need any prior experience to start tap dancing. Tap dance classes focus on teaching rhythm, coordination, and basic tap steps. It's a fun and energetic style, suitable for anyone interested in learning how to express themselves through rhythmic foot movements.

Proper tap shoes are essential for tap dance classes. These shoes have metal taps on the bottom that produce a distinctive sound when struck against the floor. Beginners should opt for flat tap shoes, while more advanced dancers may use heeled tap shoes depending on their level of comfort and expertise.

Yes, tap dance classes are available for all ages, including adults. Adult tap classes cater to a range of experience levels, from absolute beginners to those looking to refine their technique. These classes are a great way to learn a new skill, improve fitness, and enjoy the social aspects of dance.

State the dancer should wear a form fitting outfit that allows the judges to see their lines. dancer may choose to wear either leotard and tights and booty shorts if wanted or they are allowed to wear a bra top and leggings or bra and briefs/shorts. Be comfortable and confident what you are wearing! Also make sure to bring all pairs of dance shoes, as well as pants and tennis shoes if dancer is auditioning for a hip-hop combo. pants may also be needed if combo and lyrical or contemporary specified by the teacher.

Dance should arrive 30 minutes early in case we are running ahead. We also ask for the dancers to keep low volume in the waiting room and ensure they are stretched and ready to go.

Audition results will be posted on our socials as well as the website as well as an email being sent out to the parents. you can expect to see the results up to five days after the audition.
